Moral Orel Characters: Church and Clergy
Reverend Putty
Reverend Rod Putty is the minister for Moralton's only Protestant church. He wears a very obvious toupee.
Rev. Putty is lonely and slightly bitter man who is simultaneously held in both high esteem and disdain by the citizens of Moralton. Though his station as pastor should mean an enthusiasm for his life's work, his disdain for God often finds its way into his sermons, and he has a coffee cup in his office that reads "I hate my boss," (though sometimes it says "...and then you die.").
His resentment stems from being a prematurely balding virgin. Rev. Putty has also displayed some racist tendencies, such as leading the segregation of the Figurelli's and not wanting a woman of color when he was praying for a relationship.
The episode "Elemental Orel" implies that he was planning to save money from the church collection plate to hire a prostitute. Eventually, he's approached for a lunch date by Stephanie, Moralton's resident punk-rock piercing shop/ adult novelty proprietor. Rev. Putty is shocked to discover Stephanie is actually his daughter, (the result of a spinster stealing his semen from a used tissue and imprgenating herself). Rev. Putty eventually accepts this and is content to build a father-daughter relationship with Stephanie.
He is voiced by William Salyers.
