WEBSITE: YesFoundation.org
CLIENT: The YES Foundation
CATEGORY: Non-Profit, Outreach and Education
The client for this site design wanted a calm, soothing color palette, with an easy to read and easy to nagivate color scheme.
Acessability was also very important to the non-profit's founder because one of the foundation's staff members is blind. The design is pleasing to the eye, legiblle to fully sighted and color-blind users, compact, and designed for portability across platforms-- so it loads quickly and degrades gracefully.
I also set up a MYSQL databse for future use for donor databse and registration as well as making it the backend for a local installation of a Movable Type weblog. I also set up the weblog with an automatic RSS feed and button widgets that allow content on the blog to be shared and redistributed across many bookmarking and social media sites.
Ease of navigation and element editing was done via implementing Server Side Includes and PHP.
